My 911 Poem ~
'American Power'
Beauty, Perfection and Power
Standing as the twin towers
Elevating, tall and protected
Rearing high - a proud projection
Yet now a solemn reflection.
On September 11th these were destroyed
People of the world stood shocked; annoyed
We shall not go silent into that dark void;
America's power cannot be destroyed
For Lady Liberty stands tall and straight
Her eyes swollen red - but sight to date
We do not despise; we do not hate
Standing as the twin towers
Elevating, tall and protected
Rearing high - a proud projection
Yet now a solemn reflection.
On September 11th these were destroyed
People of the world stood shocked; annoyed
We shall not go silent into that dark void;
America's power cannot be destroyed
For Lady Liberty stands tall and straight
Her eyes swollen red - but sight to date
We do not despise; we do not hate
For those who murder seal their fate.
America's power is in "me and you"
So listen and stand strong and true
Don't look back - do not be blue
Remember this country is a part of you
America's power will live through
So God bless America, Me, and You.
So listen and stand strong and true
Don't look back - do not be blue
Remember this country is a part of you
America's power will live through
So God bless America, Me, and You.
